Assyrian Kingdom: Map

This map shows the ancient Near East and the expansion of the Assyrian kingdom. The core of the Assyrian kingdom was in Assyria (in the upper right portion of the red area), and the red area depicts the kingdom's expansion under Shalmaneser III (859-824 BCE). The orange areas, which include the land of Israel/Palestine, were conquered by Tiglath-Pileser III (745-727 BCE), the green areas (which include the Nile Delta) were conquered by Esarhaddon (681-699 BCE), and the blue area (the rest of Egypt) was conquered by Asshurbanipal (685-627 BCE).
